Current notices from the source

Construction Closure — Twin Lakes Island Access — Effective: August 24, 2026 - Until Further Notice — Please be advised that the boardwalk section connecting the Twin Lakes Campground shoreline to the Twin Lakes Island within Crimson Lake Provincial Park has been removed due to safety concerns. Planning for a full replacement project is underway. Due to the nature of the repairs, the island will remain inaccessible by foot for the remainder of the camping season. Visitors may still access the island via watercraft. Please note that with no foot access, emergency response times may be delayed, and visitors must pack out all waste. Visitor safety is our top priority. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to restore safe public access. Follow the direction of all signage and

This campground as published

Crimson Lake Provincial Park offers year-round camping just 14 km west of Rocky Mountain House. This fun year-round getaway offers many trails for hiking, mountain biking, or skiing. During the summer, enjoy all the amenities the park has to offer, including a boat launch, sewage disposal station, showers, coin operated laundry, a campground store, playground and a large beach area that is great for swimming. The camp store offers firewood sales, snacks, and basic camping supplies. Through-out the winter, there are several powered camping sites available at a reduced rate. Our staff plow snow out of these sites for easy access to enjoy the outdoors during all seasons. Access to vault washrooms is available year-round, however winter campers should come prepared with their own firewood and water as these services are not available from October - May. Visitors to Crimson Lake can take in a variety of winter activities including ice fishing, skating on a maintained skating rink, and groomed and packed trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.

Experience & practicality

Two transparent read-time scores. Unknown facts never count for or against a place, and a score is never used as filter evidence.

Experience

Published recreation and setting.

—/ 10

Not enough data. Only 0 relevant facts have been published for this record, so no score is shown rather than an invented one.

Practicality

Published logistics: access, cost, facilities.

8.4/ 10

93% of the 10 published facts are positive, scaled by how much is documented (91% of the 16-weight target). Partial data coverage · 17 still unpublished. A thin record reads low because little is published, not because the place is poor.

Why

  • Camping is published as allowed
  • Restroom
  • Drinking water
  • Cost is published
  • Electric hookup
  • Dump station
  • Fire ring
  • Shower
  • Laundry

Published as not available

  • $25 or less per night

Partially supported: only one of the two dimensions has enough published evidence, so this record is not presented or ranked as the equal of a fully documented one.

Methodology nmr-score-3.0.0. Park-level activities feed Experience only; campsite facts feed Practicality only. Experience measures how much recreation and setting evidence is published; Practicality is the published positive share scaled by how much of the logistics catalogue has been documented, so a handful of positives can no longer read 10/10. Unknown is never treated as a no. Neither dimension is used to filter search results, and “Best” ordering ranks fully supported records above partially supported ones.
