Terms of Use

Last updated August 25, 2026. By using No Map Required you agree to these terms.

The service

No Map Required ("NMR") helps you discover camping locations, save them, plan trips and record check-ins. Discovery, saved locations and GPS check-ins are free. Trip Planner and Journey progression are part of a paid membership.

Your account

  • You must be able to form a binding agreement to use NMR; it is intended for adults.
  • Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself — activity under your account is your responsibility.
  • One account per person. Do not impersonate another traveler.
  • We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service, other members or the data.

Camping information — read this

Camping information in NMR is assembled from public sources such as government agency datasets and open mapping data, plus member contributions. Sources disagree, go stale and contain errors.

  • We never infer that camping is legal from land ownership. When a source does not state the rule, NMR shows it as unknown rather than guessing.
  • Prices, availability, road conditions, fire restrictions, cell coverage and amenity details may be out of date or wrong.
  • You are responsible for confirming access, legality, fees and current conditions with the managing agency before you camp.
  • Routing, weather, solar and range figures are estimates for planning, not guarantees.

NMR is a planning tool. Decisions about where to drive, park and sleep — and the safety and legality of those decisions — remain yours.

Membership and billing

  • Paid memberships are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. Card details are handled by Stripe, not by NMR.
  • Premium access is granted only after payment is confirmed, and it lasts for the period that was paid for.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future billing and keeps your access until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Cancelling never deletes your account, your saved locations or your trips.
  • If a payment is refunded or disputed, the matching premium access may be revoked.
  • Founding member and cohort pricing, where offered, is honoured on the terms stated at the time you joined.

Your content

Reviews, photos, reports, trips and profile details stay yours. By posting content that is visible to others, you give NMR permission to host, display and distribute it inside the product so the feature can work. You are responsible for having the right to post what you post.

Do not post content that is:

  • false, misleading or invented — especially about camping legality, fees or access;
  • harassing, hateful, threatening or sexually explicit;
  • someone else's private information, or someone else's copyrighted work;
  • spam, advertising or automated scraping bait.

We may remove content and reverse rewards earned through content that breaks these rules.

Acceptable use

  • Do not scrape, bulk-download or resell NMR data.
  • Do not attempt to bypass authentication, membership gating or another member's privacy settings.
  • Do not submit false check-ins or otherwise manipulate journey progression and rewards.
  • Do not interfere with the service's operation or security.

Availability

NMR is offered as-is and as-available. Features may change, and parts of the product are still in active development. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that any particular location or dataset will remain in the product.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, NMR is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for losses arising from your reliance on camping information, routing, conditions data or availability of the service.

Changes and contact

We will update these terms as the product changes and will change the "last updated" date above. Questions go through the contact page. See also the Privacy Policy and Cookies & Tracking.

These terms describe how the product works today. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer; governing-law, arbitration and consumer-cancellation wording should get legal review before a broad public launch.
