Camping information as published
- Car Camping: MacGregor Point offers well separated and private campsites in three campgrounds: Algonquin Campground, Nipissing Campground and Huron Campground. Sites are treed, generous and have a level surface. Each campsite is provided with a fire pit and one 8-foot picnic table. Several campsites are designed for use by persons with disabilities.
- Car Camping: Radio-free camping is offered in all sections of Huron Campground.
- Car Camping: MacGregor Point also offers two styles of roofed accommodations: soft sided shelters (yurts) and rustic cabins. A yurt is a semi-permanent vinyl-covered structure that is 20 feet in diameter, mounted on a wooden deck about two feet off the ground. Rustic cabins have a small deck and sunroom. Both roofed accommodation styles have heat and are available for camping year-round. Reservations are recommended. Pets are only permitted in cabin 55 and a pet deposit is required at time of your reservation.
- Car Camping: Reservations can be made online or through our call centre by calling 1-888-668-7275.
- Car Camping: The private electrical sites may mean that you need to bring an extra extension cord to reach the electrical outlet. Please check the outlet distance before making your reservation. Electrical cord rentals are not available.
- Car Camping: Non-Electrical Sites
- Car Camping: These sites do not have access to any electrical services.
- Car Camping: Barrier-Free Campsites
- Car Camping: Campsite 1 in Algonquin Campground - Ash Woods and campsite 91 in Algonquin Campground - Birch Boulevard are designed to be used by persons with disabilities. The picnic table provides space for a wheelchair or mobility device. The fire pit is raised to allow easier access.
- Group Camping: There are two group camping sites in Juniper Woods: sites 501 and 502. Each group site accommodates 9-36 people, and each has water taps and outhouses. Site 501 has trailer access for up to six trailers at a maximum of 18 feet (5.5 meters) each. Site 502 is a walk-in only site and is for tents only. Parking for 502 is within 50 feet (15.2 meters) of the site entrance. Both sites do not have access to any electrical services.
- Group Camping: Reservations can be made online or through our call centre by calling 1-888-668-7275.
- Radio-Free Camping: All campsites in Huron Campground are radio and generator free. Any speakers, radios, music and noise amplifying devices are not permitted to be used at any time. Generators are not permitted to be used at any time.
- Walk-In Camping: Starting summer 2026, new walk-in campsites are available for reservations. These sites are located along the scenic Lake Ridge trail within the park and offer a serene camping experience. The sites are a 1.5km-2.1km hike from the Lake Ridge trail parking lot. The Lake Ridge trail follows deep into the woods and up along the remains of glacial ridges.
- Walk-In Camping: Campers will not be able to drive their vehicle to the walk-in campsites and must carry in their belongings from the parking lot to their site. Poison ivy and obstructions are present on the trail. Bikes, wagons and wheelchairs cannot complete this trail. Tent pads are uneven and rugged. Potable water is located at the Lake Ridge trail parking lot. Sand buckets are available on each site for fire suppression.
- Winter Seasonal Camping: MacGregor Point offers the opportunity to camp seasonally in the winter, November 1st to March 31st. Reservations for winter seasonal camping are open from April 1st to September 30th. Payment for the entirety of the winter season is required at the time of your reservation.
- Winter Seasonal Camping: These seasonal sites are in Algonquin Campground, in the Ash Woods and Birch Boulevard sections. Each of these sites has access to electricity. Water, flush toilets, showers and laundry facilities are available in the comfort stations which remain open all winter.
- Winter Seasonal Camping: One vehicle is included with the cost of winter seasonal camping. One seasonal additional vehicle permit can be purchased at the park.
- Winter Seasonal Camping: Wastewater dumping facilities in the trailer filling/dumping station remain open during the winter. Water in the filling/dumping station will be unavailable. All outdoor water taps will be unavailable.
- Winter Seasonal Camping: Roadways are cleared after storm events and large snow accumulations. Park staff will clear the entrance to campsites but will not remove snow if any electrical cords are unmarked or covered in snow. Please be patient as snow removal can take time. For snow removal requests outside of major snow events, permit holders are required to call the gatehouse at least 24 hours prior.
- Winter Seasonal Camping: During major snowstorms and weather events, power outages are common, and power restoration can be delayed. Please prepare for adverse weather and pack accordingly. Check local weather stations often during your stay to remain up to date on changing conditions.
- Rustic Cabins: MacGregor Point has comfortable cabins available year-round for reservations. They are in Algonquin Campground in the Birch Boulevard section.
- Rustic Cabins: Early check-in and late check-out is not available.
- Rustic Cabins: Each cabin sleeps five people on a queen bed and double/single bunk bed. The cabin features a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. There is a dining table and chairs/benches for inside meals. Electrical outlets are located on the interior of the building only, there are no electrical outlets or power sources available on the exterior of the cabins. A propane fireplace provides additional comfort in the winter months. Outside you will find a propane barbeque, picnic table and fire pit. Propane for the barbeque is included.
- Rustic Cabins: Visitors should bring their own bedding, food, cookware, dishes, cutlery, and other personal items.

Experience & practicality
Two transparent read-time scores. Unknown facts never count for or against a place, and a score is never used as filter evidence.
Experience
Published recreation and setting.
2.5/ 10
Documented depth: 4 of 16 evidence weight, from 13 published facts. A low number means little is published, not that the place is poor.
Why
- Hiking
- Fishing
- Mountain biking
- Swimming
- OHV riding
- Wildlife watching

- Kayaking / canoeing
- Stargazing

Practicality
Published logistics: access, cost, facilities.
6.6/ 10
96% of the 9 published facts are positive, scaled by how much is documented (69% of the 16-weight target). Partial data coverage · 18 still unpublished. A thin record reads low because little is published, not because the place is poor.
Why
- Restroom
- Drinking water
- Electric hookup
- RV friendly
- Dump station
- Shower
- Trailer friendly
- Laundry
Published as not available
- Picnic table
Fully supported: both dimensions earned a score from 22 published facts.
Methodology nmr-score-3.0.0. Park-level activities feed Experience only; campsite facts feed Practicality only. Experience measures how much recreation and setting evidence is published; Practicality is the published positive share scaled by how much of the logistics catalogue has been documented, so a handful of positives can no longer read 10/10. Unknown is never treated as a no. Neither dimension is used to filter search results, and “Best” ordering ranks fully supported records above partially supported ones.
