This campground as published
Just 16 km southwest of Caroline on Highway 591, the Tay River Campground is the perfect spot to escape and enjoy nature. The park offers 20 unserviced campsites suitable for both RVs and tents, that are available on a first come, first served basis. Most sites are in an open, grassy field, with a few choice sites by the river. While campers may take advantage of the proximity to off-highway vehicle (OHV) and equestrian trails, off-loading or operating OHVs inside the park is strictly prohibited. OHVs must remain on trailers until they reach the nearby trail systems and staging areas. Horses are not permitted within the park boundaries.
Camping information as published
- Firewood: Firewood is not available. Help stop the spread of forest pests, Dutch elm disease and emerald ash borer. Plan to bring or buy firewood locally to burn on site.
- Water: Please bring your own water. Water from the hand pump is not safe for consumption or use and should only be used to put out fires.

Experience & practicality
Two transparent read-time scores. Unknown facts never count for or against a place, and a score is never used as filter evidence.
Experience
Published recreation and setting.
—/ 10
Not enough data. Only 0 relevant facts have been published for this record, so no score is shown rather than an invented one.
Practicality
Published logistics: access, cost, facilities.
6.9/ 10
92% of the 7 published facts are positive, scaled by how much is documented (75% of the 16-weight target). Partial data coverage · 20 still unpublished. A thin record reads low because little is published, not because the place is poor.
Why
- Camping is published as allowed
- Restroom
- Drinking water
- Cost is published
- No reservation required
- Fire ring
Published as not available
- $25 or less per night
Partially supported: only one of the two dimensions has enough published evidence, so this record is not presented or ranked as the equal of a fully documented one.
Methodology nmr-score-3.0.0. Park-level activities feed Experience only; campsite facts feed Practicality only. Experience measures how much recreation and setting evidence is published; Practicality is the published positive share scaled by how much of the logistics catalogue has been documented, so a handful of positives can no longer read 10/10. Unknown is never treated as a no. Neither dimension is used to filter search results, and “Best” ordering ranks fully supported records above partially supported ones.
